Students who hold a foreign secondary school diploma and wish to enroll in a French university for the first year of study must file a preliminary application of admission (Demande d'Admission Préalable: DAP also called as "dossier blanc"). More information can be found here
The procedure begins in January each year and follows a very strict calendar.
WARNING - The DAP or "dossier blanc" procedure is only applicable if you are interested in enrolling in the first or second year of university (licence 1 and 2). The DAP does NOT apply to enrollment in a licence 3 (third year of university) or in a preparatory class. The DAP does NOT apply to students of French lycées. Students from French lycées MUST apply on the website www.dossier-bleu.fr. Citizens of the European Union and the European Economic Area do not need to apply to first year of university by the DAP procedure. They must contact the university they are interested in directly.
