France Alumni Day 2024 - Two days of celebration!

On 24 May 2024, in partnership with the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong, 60 participants joined the French wine workshop and cooking class at Bistro 1979 Training Restaurant in the School of Hotel and Tourism. It was our pleasure to collaborate with the wonderful Chef Steven Jin from St. Regis Hong Kong and two wine experts, Jean-Baptiste Mage from The Wine Guild and Minnie Wong from Wine To Love. Chef Steven shared his secret recipe of Madeleine and Chocolate Lava Cake, while the other participants learnt a lot about French wine with many fun-facts!

On 25 May 2024, 120 participants joined the Alumni Day celebration event at The Hive Sheung Wan and discovered the first public screening of the documentary on the day-to-day life in France of a Laureate of the France Excellence Yersin Scholarship, Ashleigh, produced by the famous travel content creator, iwalkutake. It was a wonderful video highlighting the opportunities offered by France. Stay tuned for the second video on Jordi, an LVMH trainee in Paris! (You can watch the videos here) Congratulations also to our 2024 France excellence Yersin laureates who were given their certificates by the Consul General of France, Mrs. Christile Drulhe.

We were also honoured to have the presence of two outstanding Francophone alumni from Hong Kong: Ms. Peggy Kwok, Senior Vice President, Fintech, Invest Hong Kong and Ms. Wendy Gan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (District Development), West Kowloon Cultural District. They gave an insightful talk on ‘French as the key to unlocking international career opportunities’, organised together with Alliance Française de Hong Kong. The panel was moderated by Jean-Sébastien Attié, Director of Alliance Française de Hong Kong.

This second day of celebration ended with a networking cocktail for alumni and prospective students getting to know each other while enjoying the delicacies prepared by Knead Hong Kong and a wine selection sponsored by Penticton Pacific.
